4+ Years Post-Accreditation Experience

Hello. I am Susan. I'm an accredited and registered counsellor - I support individuals with their psychological wellbeing. I hold private sector experience as a counsellor. My interest includes depression, relationship problems and stress, and the particular obstacles experienced by men and women.

What to Expect

A preliminary assessment appointment enables you to see if you are comfortable with me, share what troubles you, ask questions, clarify confidentiality, and assess if therapy could benefit you. Please use a contact option on the right to arrange a preliminary assessment appointment in Brighton or Brighton.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

CBT focuses on how your thoughts influence your emotions and actions. It recognises and addresses unhelpful thoughts which perpetuate the problems you encounter. The aim of CBT is for you to have healthier thoughts and feelings.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends CBT for depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), panic disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and self harm.

Counselling

Counselling centres on listening to you, and supporting you. You decide what issue regarding your early years and/or adulthood you explore. The aim of counselling is to help you to speak about a problem and discover a solution that is appropriate for you.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends counselling for depression.

Psychodynamic Therapy

Psychodynamic therapy centres on the unconscious causes of the issues you experience. It facilitates you in being conscious of aspects of your internal dynamics. Psychodynamic therapy aims to enhance your self-understanding to give you choices.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends psychodynamic therapy for depression and self harm.
