11+ Years Post-Accreditation Experience

Welcome. I'm Paula Deshe. I'm an accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) psychotherapist - I help individuals and couples with their psychological wellbeing. I hold private and public sector experience as a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) psychotherapist. My interest includes Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), and the specific difficulties faced by men, transgender people and women.

What to Expect

An initial assessment appointment helps you to see if you feel comfortable with me, discuss what concerns you, ask questions, understand confidentiality, and decide if therapy may help you. Please use a contact option on the right to book an initial assessment appointment in Bristol or Bath.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive behavioural therapy focuses on how your thoughts (cognitions) affect your emotions and behaviour. It identifies and addresses negative thoughts that maintain the problems you experience. The aim of cognitive behavioural therapy is for you to have healthier thoughts and feelings.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) indicates CBT for anorexia nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder (BED), bipolar disorder, Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD), bulimia nervosa, depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), panic disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), self harm and social anxiety disorder.

Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you obtaining insight into the problems you face. It explores your thoughts, feelings and significant events in your life. Psychotherapy aims to help you change or find suitable methods of managing.
