21+ Years Post-Chartership Experience

Hello. I am Michael Friedrich. I'm a chartered psychologist and a registered counsellor and psychotherapist - I support individuals and couples with their emotional wellbeing. I have private and public sector experience as a psychologist and a counsellor and psychotherapist. My interest includes relationship problems, and the particular obstacles encountered by men and women.

What to Expect

A preliminary assessment session enables you to discover if you feel comfortable with me, share what worries you, ask questions, understand confidentiality, and determine if therapy could benefit you. Please use a contact option on the right to book a preliminary assessment session in Seaton.

Counselling centres on listening to you, and supporting you. You determine which matter concerning your early years or adult life you explore. The objective of counselling is to help you to talk about a difficulty and find a solution which is appropriate for you.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends counselling for depression.

Psychoanalytic Therapy

Psychoanalytic therapy focuses on the unconscious meaning of the issues you experience. It facilitates your awareness of some of your unconscious. An aim of psychoanalytic therapy is for you to gain personal insight and utilise it if you decide to.

Psychology is interested in you and your mind, emotions and actions. It offers you psychological treatments and mental health support. The objective of psychological therapy is to help you alleviate symptoms.

Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you gaining insight into the difficulties you face. It explores your thoughts, feelings and relevant events in your life. Psychotherapy aims to help you develop or find suitable ways of coping.
