10+ Years Post-Registration Experience

Welcome. I am Elizabeth. I'm a registered psychotherapist - I support individuals and couples with their psychological health. I have private, public and voluntary sector experience as a psychotherapist. My interest involves Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), relationship problems and self esteem, as well as the particular issues experienced by men and women.

What to Expect

An initial assessment meeting enables you to see if you are comfortable with me, discuss what concerns you, ask questions, clarify confidentiality, and assess if therapy could help you. Please use a contact option on the right to arrange a preliminary assessment session in Whitley Bay or Newcastle, Newcastle upon Tyne.

Counselling

Counselling centres on listening to you, and supporting you. You determine what issue regarding your childhood and/or adulthood you discuss. An objective of counselling is to help you to talk about a difficulty and discover a solution which is appropriate for you.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends counselling for depression.

Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR)

Eye movement desensitisation reprocessing directs your eye motions to affect how your mind processes data. The procedure endeavours to reprocess your locked distressing memories. The aim of EMDR is to desensitise your upsetting memories.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) indicates eye movement desensitisation reprocessing for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

Integrative Therapy

Integrative therapy selects therapeutic approaches to fit your preferences and the issues you encounter. It considers your subjective experiences and options. An aim of integrative therapy is to help you develop your self-awareness.

Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you gaining insight into the difficulties you face. It explores your ideas, emotions and relevant moments in your history. Psychotherapy aims to help you develop or discover suitable methods of managing.
