9+ Years Post-Accreditation Experience

Hello. I am Jayne Andrews. I'm an accredited and registered counsellor and psychotherapist - I support individuals and couples with their emotional wellbeing. I have private and public sector experience as a counsellor and psychotherapist. My interest includes depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD) and relationship problems, as well as the particular difficulties encountered by men and women.

What to Expect

An initial assessment session allows you to discover if you feel comfortable with me, discuss what concerns you, ask questions, clarify confidentiality, and decide if therapy may benefit you. Please use a contact option on the right to arrange an initial assessment session in Glazebrook, Warrington, Wavertree, Liverpool or Hindley, Wigan.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive behavioural therapy concentrates on how your thoughts affect your emotions and actions. It identifies and addresses unhelpful thoughts which maintain the problems you experience. The objective of CBT is for you to have healthier thoughts and feelings.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) suggests CBT for alcohol dependence, depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), panic disorder, self harm and social anxiety disorder.

Counselling centres on listening to you, and supporting you. You decide what issue regarding your early years and/or adult life you explore. An aim of counselling is to help you to talk about a problem and find a way forward that is right for you.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends counselling for depression.

Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you obtaining insight into the difficulties you face. It considers your thoughts, feelings and significant events in your history. Psychotherapy aims to help you change or discover appropriate methods of coping.
