More Detail

Over 6 Years Post-Accreditation Experience

Hello. I am Pat Bennaceur. I'm an accredited and registered counsellor and psychotherapist - I support individuals and couples with their mental health. I hold private and public sector experience as a counsellor and psychotherapist. My focus includes bereavement, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD) and relationship problems, as well as the specific obstacles experienced by men and women.

What to Expect

A preliminary assessment session allows you to see if you feel comfortable with me, discuss what concerns you, ask questions, clarify confidentiality, and decide if therapy could assist you. Please use a contact option on the right to arrange an introductory assessment appointment in Hove.

Body Therapy

Body therapy centres on your mind-body connection. It considers what you feel as well as say. Body therapy aims to help you develop your self-knowledge.

Counselling centres on listening to you, and supporting you. You determine what matter concerning your childhood and/or adulthood you explore. The aim of counselling is to enable you to talk about a difficulty and discover a solution that is appropriate for you.

Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you obtaining insight into the problems you confront. It considers your thoughts, feelings and significant events in your life. Psychotherapy aims to help you change or find appropriate ways of managing.

Thoughts on Mental Health

Most of us will suffer from the loss of a loved one at some point in our lives and it is perfectly normal to feel a range of emotions, from shock and disbelief, sadness, anger, anguish, guilt or even depression. This is part of the grieving process and at times, these feelings may feel overwhelming. Although grief and depression can look quite similar there are some warning signs to look out for especially if you have a history of depression. Many think that until all the anniversaries have passed, they are not fully ready to resume 'normal' life, but everyone and every culture reacts differently.
