More Detail

Over 9 Years Post-Registration Experience

Hello. I'm Lynn Hyde. I'm a registered counsellor and psychotherapist - I help couples with their psychological health. I have private sector experience as a counsellor and psychotherapist. My interest includes abuse, anger and relationship problems, and the specific problems faced by men, transgender people and women.

What to Expect

A preliminary assessment appointment allows you to see if you are comfortable with me, discuss what concerns you, ask questions, understand confidentiality, and decide if therapy may benefit you. Please use a contact option on the right to book an introductory assessment session in Barrow Gurney, Bristol or Clifton, Bristol.

Counselling centres on listening to you, and supporting you. You determine what matter concerning your childhood or adult life you discuss. An aim of counselling is to help you to speak about a difficulty and find a way forward that is right for you.

Psychodynamic Therapy

Psychodynamic therapy centres on the unconscious causes of the problems you experience. It facilitates you in becoming aware of aspects of your inner dynamics. Psychodynamic therapy seeks to enhance your self-understanding to give you choices.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends psychodynamic therapy for depression, self harm, social anxiety disorder and substance dependence.

Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you obtaining insight into the difficulties you face. It considers your thoughts, feelings and significant events in your history. Psychotherapy aims to help you develop or find appropriate methods of managing.
