More Detail

Over 21 Years Post-Chartership Experience

Hello. I'm Kaye Blackburn. I'm a chartered and registered clinical psychologist and an accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) psychotherapist - I support individuals with their psychological health. I have private sector experience as a clinical psychologist and a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) psychotherapist. My interest involves depression, panic disorder and self esteem, and the specific problems encountered by men and women.

What to Expect

An initial assessment appointment allows you to discover if you are comfortable with me, discuss what troubles you, ask questions, understand confidentiality, and assess if therapy may benefit you. Please use a contact option on the right to book an introductory assessment meeting in Kimberworth, Rotherham.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive behavioural therapy concentrates on how your thoughts influence your feelings and actions. It recognises and challenges unhelpful thoughts that maintain the issues you experience. The objective of cognitive behavioural therapy is for you to have healthier thoughts and emotions.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) suggests cognitive behavioural therapy for depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), panic disorder and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)

Dialectical behaviour therapy evaluates your perception of your ideas and feelings. It encourages your discovery of useful reactions to your life. DBT intends to help you improve and continue your coping abilities.

Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR)

Eye movement desensitisation reprocessing guides your eye motions to stimulate how your mind processes information. The technique endeavours to reprocess your frozen traumatic memories. The aim of eye movement desensitisation reprocessing is to desensitise your upsetting memories.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends eye movement desensitisation reprocessing for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

Psychodynamic Therapy

Psychodynamic therapy centres on the unconscious meaning of the issues you encounter. It facilitates you in becoming conscious of aspects of your inner dynamics. Psychodynamic therapy aims to enhance your self-comprehension to give you choices.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends psychodynamic therapy for depression.

Psychology is interested in you and your thoughts, emotions and behaviour. It offers you psychological interventions and mental health support. The intention of psychological therapies is to help you alleviate symptoms.

Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you obtaining insight into the problems you confront. It explores your ideas, emotions and relevant events in your history. Psychotherapy aims to help you change or find suitable ways of managing.

Systemic Therapy

Systemic therapy concentrates on the organisation of interactions between you and people. It identifies the interactions which maintain the interpersonal conflicts you experience. Systemic therapy seeks to help you improve how you communicate with people.
