Welcome. My name is Jan Sheppard. I am a UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) Registered Psychotherapist - Existential Psychotherapist and a British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) Senior Accredited (MBACP Snr Accred) and Registered Psychotherapist. I work with people to help them make sense of the thoughts and emotions they experience. My private Counselling and Psychotherapy consulting room is located in Bow, London. I also practise in Walthamstow, London and Canary Wharf, London.

I have been a UKCP Registered Psychotherapist since May 2002 and a BACP Senior Accredited Psychotherapist since May 2008 (Accredited since May 2002 and Registered since May 2002), so I have more than 11 years of post-registration experience of helping clients. I work with Individuals and Couples. I am highly experienced in providing Counselling and Psychotherapy to people from different backgrounds and cultures, and assisting with the particular difficulties they face. I have academic and clinical research experience in Dissociation.

As well as being a Psychotherapist in private practice in Bow, London, I have experience as a NHS Primary Care Trust (PCT) Psychotherapist.

After an initial assessment in Bow, London, there is no obligation to proceed if you decide not to. As Client and Therapist, we can take the opportunity to consider the current or unresolved past concerns for which you are considering Counselling or Psychotherapy. I will address any questions you may have. You can see how you feel working with me. You and I will then be able to determine if my Counselling and Psychotherapy practice is right for you.

The aim of my Counselling and Psychotherapy practice is to attend to what brings you to therapy in a confidential and focused environment. To get the most from Counselling and Psychotherapy you will need to be able to speak openly with me and reflect.
