Clinical Experience in Counselling and Psychology

Hello. My name is Mike Nelmes. I am a British Psychological Society (BPS) Chartered Counselling Psychologist (CPsychol) Associate Fellow (AFBPsS) and Health Professions Council (HPC) Registered Counselling Psychologist. My private Counselling and Psychology clinic is based in Rhiwbina, Cardiff.

A Counselling Psychologist since June 2007, I have 4 years of experience in Counselling and Psychology. I work with Individuals, Couples and Groups. I am highly experienced in providing Counselling and Psychology to people from different backgrounds and cultures, and dealing with the particular issues they encounter.

In addition to being a Counselling Psychologist in private practice in Rhiwbina, Cardiff, I have experience as a Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) Counselling Psychologist.

What to Expect during Counselling and Psychology

I would describe myself as an integrative psychologist with a greater emphasis on Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT). CBT addresses ways in which an individual thinks and behaves. It is also the treatment of choice for most psychological problems. However, I also incorporate aspects of Person-centred, Psychodynamic, Existential and Gestalt Therapy.
