Clinical Experience in Counselling and Psychotherapy

I am a qualified and experienced independent counsellor based in Camberley on the Surrey and Hampshire borders, offering both short term and long term individual counselling for a range of problems. I am also a volunteer counsellor at a WPF national network counselling service in Hampshire, in addition to counselling here I also undertake initial client interviews.

What to Expect during Counselling and Psychotherapy

I offer weekly counselling sessions in a quiet, confidential and containing environment to work on an individual basis with a range of issues, for both teenagers and adults.

My approach is influenced by training in a range of approaches to counselling and psychotherapy including psychodynamic, person centred and existential theory and practice. My aim is to offer a flexible and thoughtful approach to each client's therapy.

As a member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) I work within the BACP Framework for Ethical Practice in counselling and psychotherapy which ensures confidentiality and professional conduct for the counselling offered.

In our first session, which lasts for about 90 minutes the client has an opportunity to tell me about the concerns they have and the goals they would like to achieve through counselling. This session allows us to get a sense of each other and to assess whether counselling is the most helpful way to address the client's goals. Once counselling begins we will meet for weekly 50 minute sessions.
