Clinical Experience in Psychotherapy

I am a Psychodynamically trained Therapist, trained to the highest standards set by WPF and BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy). Psychodynamic therapy provides you with a safe and supportive space where you can explore your difficulties and respond to events and change the way you relate to others and yourself. I have an eclectic theoretical blend, complimented by my BA (Hons) in Social Anthropology (SOAS). I have an in depth understanding of issues of ethnicity, diversity, identity, marginalisation and exclusion. In addition I have great experience working with addiction by combining Psychodynamic therapy, with (CBT) Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and 12 Step models of treatment.

What to Expect during Psychotherapy

I employ a multi-faceted and eclectic approach and my counselling is tailored to meet clients specific needs.

My Psychodynamic approach to counselling equips me with a number of complimentary skills and different ways to work with resistant and defended clients on a deep level. I have developed an adaptive set of clinical tools and work creatively and confidently in a successful and effective way with a diverse range of clients. These clients present with a number a complex issues, such as drug and alcohol dependency, suicidal tendencies, chronic depression, food disorders, personality disorders, OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder), stress and relationship difficulties. Many of these clients have suffered early trauma.

I work ethically and sensitively, forming strong positive working alliances with clients from a spectrum of backgrounds and differing sexual perspectives and orientations.

Clinical Qualifications in Psychotherapy

  • Advanced Diploma Psychodynamic Counselling and Psychotherapy - Westminster Pastoral Foundation (WPF) Therapy London (UK) 2007
  • UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) Registered Psychotherapist - Psychodynamic Therapist since 2004

I am committed to Continuing Professional Development (CPD) in Psychotherapy. I abide by the Code of Ethics of the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and the Code of Ethics of the Foundation for Psychotherapy and Counselling (FPC) London.
