Clinical Experience in Counselling

I am a British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) Accredited (MBACP Accred) and Registered Counsellor. I work with people to help them make sense of the thoughts and emotions they experience. My private Counselling practice is based in Hoddesdon.

I have been a BACP Accredited Counsellor since January 2011 (Registered since September 2007) so I have over 5 years and 8 months of post-registration experience of working with clients. I work with Individuals and Couples. I am highly experienced in providing Counselling to men, people from different backgrounds and cultures, the gay community and women, and helping with the particular challenges they face. My specialist experience is in Addictions, Post Natal Depression (PND), Pregnancy and Spirituality.

As well as being a Counsellor in private practice in Hoddesdon, I have experience as a Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) and GP Surgery Counsellor.

What to Expect during Counselling

After an initial consultation in Hoddesdon, there is no obligation to continue if you decide not to. We can use the time to explore the current or unresolved past issues for which you are considering Counselling. I will discuss confidentiality with you and address any questions you may have. You can see how you feel working with me. You and I will then be able to decide if my Counselling practice is right for you.

The aim of my Counselling practice is to concentrate on your concerns so you feel heard, respected and supported and tailor therapy to you and your needs. To get the most from Counselling you will need to be able to be open to change, participate and speak openly with me and reflect.

As a British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) Accredited (MBACP Accred) and Registered Counsellor, I am highly trained and experienced in using Family and Couple Therapy and Person Centred Therapy to help people to address life problems.

Person Centred Therapy

Person Centred Therapy aims to help you discover the answers to your own problems by helping you find and use your own inbuilt tendency for personal growth, enabling you to navigate your inner world, dispel negative and unhelpful beliefs and uncover a healthier more fulfilling way of being. Generally 6 to 30 sessions: depends on issue and other factors.

Clinical Qualifications in Counselling
