Clinical Experience in Counselling and Psychotherapy

Hello. My name is Ray Beber. I am a UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) Registered Psychotherapist. I help people to address the problems in their lives. My private Counselling and Psychotherapy practice is based in Kentish Town, London. I also practise in Crouch End, London.

A Psychotherapist since May 1985, I have 28 years of experience in Counselling and Psychotherapy. I work with Individuals, Couples and Groups. I am highly experienced in providing Counselling and Psychotherapy to people from different backgrounds and cultures, and assisting with the particular difficulties they face. My expertise is in Relationship Problems.

As well as being a Psychotherapist in private practice in Kentish Town, London, I have experience as a Charity Psychotherapist.

What to Expect during Counselling and Psychotherapy

After a preliminary meeting in Kentish Town, London, there is no necessity to continue if you decide not to. We can take the opportunity to clarify the current concerns for which you are considering Counselling or Psychotherapy. I will address any questions you may have. You can see how you feel working with me. You and I will then be able to decide if my Counselling and Psychotherapy practice is appropriate for you.

The aim of my Counselling and Psychotherapy practice is to concentrate on your concerns so you feel heard, respected and supported. To get the most from Counselling and Psychotherapy you will need to be able to work collaboratively.

As a UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) Registered Psychotherapist, I am highly trained and experienced in using Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR), Group Analytic Therapy, Psychoanalytic Therapy, Psychodynamic Interpersonal Therapy (PIT) and Psychodynamic Therapy to work with people to address the causes of problems and reduce symptoms.

Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR)

EMDR is a non intrusive method of desensitising strong and 'locked' memories typically resulting from injury , assault and attack. Generally 5 to 10 sessions: depends on issue and other factors.

Group Analytic Therapy

Group Analytic Therapy can be a powerful approach to unhelpful patterns you may have in your relationships. Each member of the group has a valuable contribution to bring, and this is central to the therapeutic potential of the group. Generally 40 to 60 sessions: depends on issue and other factors.

Psychoanalytic Therapy

This approach considers the underlying wishes and impulses that influence and form individual personality. The therapy involves a depth exploration of the conflicts and difficulties that such structures create, often arising from an unconscious base. Generally 40 to 60 sessions: depends on issue and other factors.

Psychodynamic Interpersonal Therapy (PIT)

Interpersonal therapy aims to help you look at, explore and see what goes on between yourself and others - the interpersonal space. Generally 40 to 60 sessions: depends on issue and other factors.

Clinical Qualifications in Counselling and Psychotherapy

  • UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) Registered Psychotherapist since 1984
  • UKCP Accredited Training Group Analytic Psychotherapy - London Centre for Psychotherapy (UK) 1984

I am committed to Continuing Professional Development (CPD) in Counselling and Psychotherapy. I abide by the Code of Ethics of the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and the Code of Ethics of the Universities Psychotherapy and Counselling Association (UPCA) St Leonards on Sea.
