Attachment Based Therapy
Explores your early relationships with parents and caregivers, to understand patterns of relating to others, and the unresolved issues which contribute to fixed and unhelpful ways of being in close relationships. Generally 24 to 200 sessions: depends on issue and other factors.
Brief Therapy
Brief Therapy focuses on specific challenges and difficulties that require immediate attention. Generally 6 to 36 sessions: depends on issue and other factors.
Client Centred Therapy
Values the fundamental resources and tendencies in human beings to grow in a climate of genuinely non-judgemental acceptance and empathic understanding. The quality of the dialogue and the therapeutic relationship aim to be sensitively tuned to how you experience your circumstances in life. Generally 24 to 200 sessions: depends on issue and other factors.
Cognitive Therapy
Aims to clarify the underlying beliefs and assumptions you make about what is 'right' and 'wrong', 'good' and 'bad'. When these beliefs and assumptions are not reflected on, they can silently govern your day to day thoughts, feelings and actions. Cognitive Therapy aims to uncover and alter these. Generally 12 to 36 sessions: depends on issue and other factors.
Eclectic Therapy
Eclectic Therapy is a hybrid approach to therapy, drawing from a variety of philosophies and theories of therapy that aim to address your needs. Generally 12 to 200 sessions: depends on issue and other factors.
Educational Therapy
Educational Therapy aims to foster learning and growth through an education model of therapy, where you are encouraged to become curious and take an objective stance towards your experiences. Generally 12 to 200 sessions: depends on issue and other factors.
Existential Therapy
Regards human existence in the context of being 'thrown' into the world at birth, and meeting the challenge of making your unique pilgrimage towards death. The emphasis is on living authentically, but this involves truthful and courageous acceptance of your limits and tendencies with humility and courage. Generally 24 to 200 sessions: depends on issue and other factors.
Experiential Therapy
The emphasis is on feeling, sensing, and perceiving the day to day events of your life, rather than living in abstract terms. The focus is on 'being here, now', becoming aware of your physicality, and relationships to your body, other people, and nature. Reliable meaning emerges from such 'experiencing'. Generally 12 to 200 sessions: depends on issue and other factors.
Gestalt Therapy
Regards experiences as having a cycle of wholeness - a process from start to completion - which can get blocked and cause disturbance. By looking at the opposite poles of your experience, the aim is to find an organic whole, a Gestalt. Generally 24 to 200 sessions: depends on issue and other factors.
Holistic Therapy
Essentially a broad view of human life as a unity of mind, body, and spirit, living in the context of time and space, with others as connected to your self, and your self as part of the others. Generally 24 to 200 sessions: depends on issue and other factors.
Humanistic and Integrative Therapy
A broad spectrum of approaches valuing human beings as being unique and beyond the concepts of polar opposites - not right or wrong, but what makes life satisfying, meaningful. Emphasises the role of relationships which are explored from various therapeutic perspectives. Generally 24 to 200 sessions: depends on issue and other factors.
