What Concerns You?

There are many problems that therapy can help you to manage. Broadly speaking they all fit into one of the following types:

  • A diagnosed or suspected mental health problem
  • A crisis or moment of change in one's life that becomes overwhelming
  • A life issue such as bereavement or illness that causes other mental health issues

How do you know if you have a problem?

You will know if you need help because a symptom you are experiencing will start to get in the way of you living your life. Sometimes you may not be aware of the symptom or cause itself, you may just find that you cannot live effectively or happily. You may be causing yourself harm, for example it could affect your career, your relationships with others or your physical health.

You do not need to know exactly what is wrong to go to a therapist, they can help you to work that out if you need to.
