NICE suggests counselling for Depression.

Counselling centres on listening to you, and assisting you. You decide which issue concerning your childhood or adulthood you discuss. The objective of counselling is to help you to talk about a difficulty and find a solution which is right for you.

Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR)

NICE suggests EMDR for PTSD.

EMDR directs your eye motions to stimulate how your brain processes data. The procedure attempts to reprocess your frozen traumatic recollections. The aim of EMDR is to desensitise your painful memories.

Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you obtaining insight into the difficulties you face. It explores your thoughts, feelings and significant events in your history. Psychotherapy intends to help you change or find suitable methods of coping.
