Counselling centres on listening to you, and supporting you. You decide what issue concerning your childhood and/or adult life you explore. The objective of counselling is to enable you to talk about a difficulty and find a way forward that is appropriate for you.

Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR)

NICE suggests EMDR for PTSD.

EMDR directs your eye movements to affect how your mind processes information. The technique endeavours to reprocess your frozen distressing memories. The objective of eye movement desensitisation reprocessing is to desensitise your upsetting memories.


Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you gaining insight into the problems you confront. It considers your ideas, feelings and relevant moments in your history. Psychotherapy intends to help you change or discover appropriate methods of managing.
