10+ Years Post-Accreditation Experience

Welcome. I'm William Smither. I'm an accredited and registered counsellor - I support individuals with their mental health. I have private sector experience as a counsellor. My interest involves relationship problems, and the particular difficulties encountered by men and women.

What to Expect

An initial assessment session helps you to see if you are comfortable with me, share what concerns you, ask questions, clarify confidentiality, and determine if therapy could help you. Please use a contact option on the right to arrange an introductory assessment meeting in Newbury, Thatcham or Salisbury.

Counselling centres on listening to you, and assisting you. You decide what issue concerning your early years and/or adulthood you discuss. An aim of counselling is to enable you to talk about a difficulty and discover a way forward which is appropriate for you.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends counselling for depression.

Easy to talk toHelpfulnessValue for Money

"Will is a thoughtful, compassionate and caring therapist. He created an environment in which I felt very safe and supported and able to talk, without fear of judgment. He is also a warm and (appropriately) humorous person, which makes him very approachable. He helped me find the courage to tackle a lot of issues, and I still miss our sessions sometimes."
