More Detail

3+ Years Post-Registration Experience

Hello. I am Valerie. I'm a registered counsellor and psychotherapist - I assist individuals with their emotional wellbeing. I have private, public and voluntary sector experience as a counsellor and psychotherapist. My focus includes self esteem, and the particular issues experienced by men, transgender people and women.

What to Expect

An initial assessment appointment enables you to discover if you feel comfortable with me, discuss what concerns you, ask questions, clarify confidentiality, and decide if therapy may benefit you. Please use a contact option on the right to arrange an initial assessment session in Cheshunt, Waltham Cross.

Counselling centres on listening to you, and assisting you. You determine which issue concerning your early years or adult life you explore. The aim of counselling is to enable you to talk about a difficulty and discover a way forward that is appropriate for you.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends counselling for depression.

Humanistic Therapy

Humanistic therapy focuses on appreciating you. It sees you as a whole human being and emphasises your personal growth. Humanistic therapy seeks to help you recognise your freedom.

Integrative Therapy

Integrative therapy selects therapeutic approaches to fit your needs and the problems you encounter. It explores your subjective experiences and options. The aim of integrative therapy is to help you develop your self-awareness.

Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you gaining insight into the difficulties you confront. It explores your ideas, feelings and relevant moments in your life. Psychotherapy aims to help you develop or discover suitable ways of managing.
