6+ Years Post-Registration Experience

Hi. I am Una. I'm a registered counselling psychologist - I assist individuals and couples with their psychological wellbeing. I have private sector experience as a counselling psychologist. My focus involves relationship problems, self esteem and stress, as well as the particular obstacles faced by women.

What to Expect

An initial assessment meeting allows you to see if you are comfortable with me, discuss what worries you, ask questions, understand confidentiality, and assess if therapy could assist you. Please use a contact option on the right to arrange an initial assessment appointment in Marylebone, London.

Counselling

Counselling centres on listening to you, and assisting you. You determine what issue regarding your early years or adulthood you discuss. The objective of counselling is to help you to speak about a problem and find a way forward which is appropriate for you.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends counselling for depression.

Psychology

Psychology is interested in you and your thoughts, feelings and behaviour. It offers you psychological interventions and mental wellbeing support. The intention of psychological therapy is to help you ease symptoms.

Thoughts on Mental Health

Emotional wellbeing is such an important element to consider when dealing with a physical illness, however it is so often overlooked when the focus is on your physical and medical needs.†Depression†can be more prevalent in people with a physical illness, so recognising and managing any signs of depression†can aid in improving your overall wellbeing whilst dealing with the impact of your physical illness. As some of the symptoms of depression may be similar to those caused by a physical illness or its treatment; talking about how you're feeling to a doctor can help to determine whether it is the physical illness or†depression†that is responsible.
