I hold private sector experience as a counsellor and psychotherapist. My focus includes self esteem, and the particular issues faced by mixed ethnic background men and women.

What to Expect

A preliminary assessment meeting enables you to see if you are comfortable with me, discuss what concerns you, ask questions, understand confidentiality, and decide if therapy may benefit you. Please use a contact option on the right to book an introductory assessment appointment in Hove.

Client Centred Therapy

Client centred therapy concentrates on understanding and supporting you. It encourages your honesty about the concerns you encounter. Client centred therapy aims to help you discover your own solutions.

Counselling centres on listening to you, and supporting you. You decide what matter concerning your early years and/or adulthood you explore. The objective of counselling is to enable you to speak about a difficulty and discover a way forward which is right for you.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends counselling for depression.

Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you gaining insight into the problems you face. It considers your ideas, feelings and relevant moments in your history. Psychotherapy aims to help you develop or find suitable methods of coping.

Easy to talk toHelpfulnessValue for Money

"Theo listens to you so he can read and analyse your feelings. He breaks down a structure that is easy for someone to comprehend by starting from the root. He compliments you when you are succeeding and reminds you about the positive things you should be concentrating on for yourself. He is honest and also keeps things basic and real as well. Each session you walk away with new analogies and methods to think about, which will help you gain control of your mind. Sometimes these methods work and sometimes they don't, which means he will think of another psychological strategy to help you find life easier in the next session. He does not judge you for your past or who you are, and he himself seems like he has nothing to hide which makes you feel more safe."
