More Detail

1+ Years Post-Registration Experience

Welcome. I am Thalia Martin. I'm a registered accredited counsellor - I help individuals and couples with their psychological wellbeing. I have private sector experience as a counsellor. My focus includes depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD) and stress, and the specific problems faced by women.

What to Expect

An initial assessment session helps you to discover if you feel comfortable with me, discuss what worries you, ask questions, clarify confidentiality, and decide if therapy could help you. Please use a contact option on the right to book a preliminary assessment session in Peterborough, Crouch End, London or St. Pauls, London.

Client Centred Therapy

Client centred therapy focuses on understanding and supporting you. It encourages your honesty about the concerns you encounter. Client centred therapy aims to help you find your own answers.

Counselling

Counselling centres on listening to you, and supporting you. You decide what issue concerning your early years or adulthood you discuss. An aim of counselling is to help you to talk about a problem and discover a way forward that is right for you.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends counselling for depression.

Humanistic Therapy

Humanistic therapy centres on appreciating you. It considers you as a whole human being and prioritises your personal growth. Humanistic therapy seeks to help you recognise your freedom.

Integrative Therapy

Integrative therapy selects therapies to suit your preferences and the problems you encounter. It considers your subjective experiences and choices. The aim of integrative therapy is to help you develop your self-awareness.

Psychodynamic Therapy

Psychodynamic therapy focuses on the unconscious causes of the issues you encounter. It facilitates you in being conscious of parts of your internal dynamics. Psychodynamic therapy aims to enhance your self-comprehension to give you options.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) indicates psychodynamic therapy for anorexia nervosa, depression and social anxiety disorder.

Transpersonal Therapy

Transpersonal therapy considers your intellect, body and soul. It views the problems you experience as opportunities for you to transform. Transpersonal therapy aims to help you recognise your human potential.
