More Detail

10+ Years Post-Accreditation Experience

Welcome. I am Tania. I'm an accredited and registered counsellor and psychotherapist - I help individuals and couples with their mental health. I have private, public and voluntary sector experience as a counsellor and psychotherapist. My focus involves abuse, depression and relationship problems, as well as the specific challenges faced by business, heterosexual and mixed ethnic background men, transgender people and women.

What to Expect

An initial assessment session allows you to see if you feel comfortable with me, discuss what troubles you, ask questions, clarify confidentiality, and decide if therapy may help you. Please use a contact option on the right to arrange an introductory assessment appointment in Sidcup.

Counselling

Counselling centres on listening to you, and supporting you. You decide which issue concerning your childhood or adult life you explore. The aim of counselling is to help you to speak about a difficulty and find a way forward which is right for you.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends counselling for depression.

Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)

(1 Review)
Dialectical behaviour therapy considers your understanding of your thoughts and emotions. It facilitates your discovery of useful responses to your life. DBT intends to help you improve and maintain your coping abilities.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) indicates dialectical behaviour therapy for Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD).

Humanistic Therapy

Humanistic therapy focuses on valuing you. It considers you as a whole person and prioritises your personal growth. Humanistic therapy aims to help you realise your autonomy.

Psychoanalytic Therapy

Psychoanalytic therapy concentrates on the unconscious meaning of the problems you encounter. It fosters your consciousness of parts of your unconscious. An objective of psychoanalytic therapy is for you to attain personal insight and use it if you wish to.

Psychodynamic Therapy

Psychodynamic therapy centres on the unconscious meaning of the issues you experience. It facilitates you in becoming conscious of parts of your inner dynamics. Psychodynamic therapy seeks to increase your self-understanding to give you choices.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) suggests psychodynamic therapy for anorexia nervosa, depression, self harm and social anxiety disorder.

Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you gaining insight into the difficulties you face. It explores your ideas, emotions and significant events in your life. Psychotherapy aims to help you develop or find suitable ways of coping.

Easy to talk toHelpfulnessValue for Money

"Tania offers a very relaxed and cosy therapy setting, and she is excellent at giving practical guidance for using DBT skills to improve interpersonal relationships. For me personally I have been able to see the benefits right from the first session, and whilst in the sessions we have addressed some difficult and troubling issues, I have left every session feeling more positive than at the beginning."
