6+ Years Post-Registration Experience

Hi. I'm Susan Poarch. I'm a registered psychotherapist - I assist individuals with their psychological health. I hold private and public sector experience as a psychotherapist. My focus involves depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD) and relationship problems, and the particular problems encountered by men, transgender people and women.

What to Expect

An initial assessment session helps you to see if you are comfortable with me, discuss what troubles you, ask questions, understand confidentiality, and decide if therapy could help you. Please use a contact option on the right to arrange a preliminary assessment session in Winterbourne, Bristol.

Counselling centres on listening to you, and supporting you. You decide which issue regarding your early years and/or adulthood you discuss. The aim of counselling is to enable you to talk about a problem and discover a way forward that is appropriate for you.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends counselling for depression.

Humanistic Therapy

Humanistic therapy centres on valuing you. It sees you as a whole human being and prioritises your personal development. Humanistic therapy aims to help you realise your freedom.

Integrative Therapy

Integrative therapy selects therapeutic approaches to suit your preferences and the issues you experience. It explores your personal experience and choices. The aim of integrative therapy is to help you develop your self-awareness.

Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you obtaining insight into the problems you face. It considers your thoughts, feelings and relevant events in your history. Psychotherapy aims to help you develop or find suitable ways of managing.
