4+ Years Post-Accreditation Experience

Welcome. I am Susan Barrett. I'm an accredited and registered counsellor and psychotherapist - I support individuals with their emotional wellbeing. I have private sector experience as a counsellor and psychotherapist. My interest includes abuse, bereavement and relationship problems, as well as the particular difficulties experienced by men and women.

What to Expect

An initial assessment meeting helps you to see if you feel comfortable with me, share what concerns you, ask questions, clarify confidentiality, and decide if therapy could assist you. Please use a contact option on the right to arrange a preliminary assessment appointment in Tadworth.

Counselling centres on listening to you, and assisting you. You decide what issue concerning your childhood and/or adult life you explore. An aim of counselling is to help you to talk about a difficulty and discover a solution that is right for you.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends counselling for depression.

Psychodynamic Therapy

Psychodynamic therapy focuses on the unconscious meaning of the issues you experience. It facilitates you in becoming aware of parts of your internal dynamics. Psychodynamic therapy seeks to increase your self-understanding to give you options.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) indicates psychodynamic therapy for anorexia nervosa, depression and self harm.

Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you obtaining insight into the difficulties you face. It considers your thoughts, feelings and relevant moments in your life. Psychotherapy intends to help you change or find appropriate methods of managing.
