7+ Years Post-Registration Experience

Welcome. I'm Sue. I'm a registered psychotherapist - I help individuals and couples with their psychological health. I hold private and public sector experience as a psychotherapist. My interest includes self esteem, and the particular obstacles encountered by women.

What to Expect

A preliminary assessment appointment allows you to see if you are comfortable with me, discuss what troubles you, ask questions, clarify confidentiality, and assess if therapy could benefit you. Please use a contact option on the right to arrange an introductory assessment meeting in Llandough, Penarth.

Counselling

Counselling centres on listening to you, and supporting you. You decide which matter regarding your childhood or adult life you discuss. An aim of counselling is to help you to talk about a difficulty and find a way forward which is right for you.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends counselling for depression.

Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you gaining insight into the difficulties you confront. It explores your thoughts, feelings and significant events in your life. Psychotherapy intends to help you develop or find suitable ways of coping.

Systemic Therapy

Systemic therapy concentrates on the system of interactions between you and others. It addresses the interactions which perpetuate the relationship problems you experience. Systemic therapy seeks to help you improve how you interact with others.
