Counselling

Counselling centres on listening to you, and supporting you. You determine what issue regarding your childhood and/or adulthood you discuss. An objective of counselling is to help you to talk about a difficulty and find a way forward that is appropriate for you.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends counselling for depression.

Psychoanalytic Therapy

Psychoanalytic therapy focuses on the unconscious meaning of the problems you encounter. It fosters your awareness of some of your unconscious. An aim of psychoanalytic therapy is for you to gain personal knowledge and use it if you wish to.

Psychodynamic Therapy

Psychodynamic therapy centres on the unconscious meaning of the issues you experience. It facilitates you in becoming aware of aspects of your inner dynamics. Psychodynamic therapy aims to increase your self-understanding to give you options.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) indicates psychodynamic therapy for depression and social anxiety disorder.

Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you gaining insight into the difficulties you confront. It considers your ideas, feelings and relevant moments in your life. Psychotherapy aims to help you change or find appropriate methods of coping.
