16+ Years Post-Chartership Experience

Welcome. I am Siobhan McCarthy. I'm a chartered and registered clinical psychologist and a registered counsellor and psychotherapist - I help individuals and couples with their emotional wellbeing. I have private sector experience as a clinical psychologist and a counsellor and psychotherapist. My interest includes depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD) and relationship problems, and the particular challenges encountered by women.

What to Expect

An introductory assessment appointment helps you to see if you feel comfortable with me, share what concerns you, ask questions, understand confidentiality, and decide if therapy may help you. Please use a contact option on the right to book an introductory assessment session in Dulwich Village, London.

Counselling

Counselling centres on listening to you, and supporting you. You determine what issue regarding your early years or adult life you explore. The aim of counselling is to enable you to talk about a difficulty and find a solution which is appropriate for you.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends counselling for depression.

Psychology

Psychology is interested in you and your thoughts, emotions and behaviour. It offers you psychological treatments and mental wellbeing support. An objective of psychological therapies is to help you alleviate symptoms.

Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you obtaining insight into the problems you confront. It explores your ideas, feelings and relevant moments in your life. Psychotherapy intends to help you develop or find suitable methods of coping.
