11+ Years Post-Accreditation Experience

Hi. I am Sarah. I'm a senior accredited and registered counsellor and psychotherapist - I assist individuals and couples with their psychological health. I have private sector experience as a counsellor and psychotherapist. My focus involves relationship problems, self esteem and sexual problems, as well as the specific problems experienced by business women.

What to Expect

A preliminary assessment session enables you to see if you feel comfortable with me, discuss what worries you, ask questions, clarify confidentiality, and determine if therapy may benefit you. Please use a contact option on the right to arrange an initial assessment meeting in Malmesbury.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

CBT concentrates on how your thoughts (cognitions) influence your feelings and actions. It recognises and addresses unhelpful thoughts that perpetuate the issues you encounter. The objective of CBT is for you to have healthier thoughts and feelings.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends CBT for anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

Counselling

Counselling centres on listening to you, and assisting you. You decide what issue concerning your childhood and/or adult life you discuss. The objective of counselling is to help you to talk about a difficulty and find a solution which is right for you.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends counselling for depression.

Humanistic Therapy

Humanistic therapy focuses on appreciating you. It considers you as a whole person and emphasises your unique growth. Humanistic therapy seeks to help you recognise your autonomy.

Integrative Therapy

Integrative therapy combines therapeutic approaches to suit your needs and the issues you experience. It explores your subjective experience and choices. An aim of integrative therapy is to help you advance your self-awareness.

Psychosexual Therapy

Psychosexual therapy focuses on understanding the sexual difficulties you encounter. When appropriate, you undertake treatment tasks privately in your home. Psychosexual therapy aims to help you overcome sexual difficulties.

Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you obtaining insight into the problems you face. It explores your thoughts, emotions and significant moments in your life. Psychotherapy intends to help you develop or discover suitable ways of managing.
