2+ Years Post-Registration Experience

Hi. I am Sam Jahara. I'm a registered psychotherapist - I support individuals and couples with their mental health. I hold private and public sector experience as a psychotherapist. My focus involves depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD) and relationship problems, and the particular difficulties encountered by men, transgender people and women.

What to Expect

An introductory assessment session helps you to see if you feel comfortable with me, share what worries you, ask questions, understand confidentiality, and decide if therapy may benefit you. Please use a contact option on the right to arrange an initial assessment session in Lewes or Hove.

Counselling centres on listening to you, and supporting you. You determine which issue regarding your early years or adult life you discuss. An aim of counselling is to help you to speak about a problem and find a way forward that is appropriate for you.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends counselling for depression.

Humanistic Therapy

Humanistic therapy focuses on appreciating you. It sees you as a whole human being and emphasises your personal growth. Humanistic therapy seeks to help you realise your autonomy.

Easy to talk toHelpfulnessValue for Money

"Sam wasn't the first therapist I've been to but she is the best, for me. She made me feel safe and secure and held and she was a constant in a world of change. She was just what I needed. Initially giving me some very practical ways I could help myself with and along with our sessions my anxiety subdued well, we were then able to deal with the underlying causes, with patience and love. I couldn't rate her more highly."
