More Detail

3+ Years Post-Registration Experience

Hello. I am Rosalind Simpson. I'm a registered counsellor and psychotherapist - I help individuals and couples with their emotional wellbeing. I hold private sector experience as a counsellor and psychotherapist. My interest includes abuse, relationship problems and sexual problems, as well as the particular problems experienced by asexual, gay and heterosexual men, transgender people and women.

What to Expect

An initial assessment session enables you to see if you are comfortable with me, share what worries you, ask questions, clarify confidentiality, and determine if therapy could help you. Please use a contact option on the right to book an initial assessment meeting in West End, London or Borough, London.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive behavioural therapy concentrates on how your thoughts (cognitions) affect your feelings and behaviour. It recognises and challenges unhelpful ideas which perpetuate the issues you experience. The objective of cognitive behavioural therapy is for you to experience healthier thoughts and feelings.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends CBT for alcohol dependence, anorexia nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder (BED), bipolar disorder, Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD), bulimia nervosa, depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), panic disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), schizophrenia, self harm and social anxiety disorder.

Counselling

Counselling centres on listening to you, and supporting you. You determine what issue concerning your childhood and/or adult life you discuss. The objective of counselling is to enable you to speak about a difficulty and find a way forward that is appropriate for you.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends counselling for depression.

Psychodynamic Therapy

Psychodynamic therapy centres on the unconscious meaning of the issues you encounter. It facilitates you in becoming conscious of aspects of your internal dynamics. Psychodynamic therapy aims to increase your self-understanding to give you options.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) suggests psychodynamic therapy for anorexia nervosa, depression, self harm and social anxiety disorder.

Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you gaining insight into the problems you face. It explores your thoughts, emotions and relevant events in your history. Psychotherapy aims to help you change or find appropriate ways of coping.
