12+ Years Post-Registration Experience

Hello. I'm Rory. I'm an accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) psychotherapist - I help individuals with their mental health. I have private and public sector experience as a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) psychotherapist. My focus involves depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD) and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), as well as the specific difficulties encountered by men.

What to Expect

An initial assessment meeting allows you to discover if you are comfortable with me, discuss what troubles you, ask questions, clarify confidentiality, and assess if therapy could assist you. Please use a contact option on the right to arrange a preliminary assessment appointment in Nottingham.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

CBT focuses on how your thoughts affect your emotions and actions. It recognises and addresses unhelpful ideas which perpetuate the problems you experience. The aim of cognitive behavioural therapy is for you to have healthier thoughts and feelings.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) suggests cognitive behavioural therapy for depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), panic disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and social anxiety disorder.

Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR)

Eye movement desensitisation reprocessing guides your eye motions to affect how your mind processes information. The procedure endeavours to reprocess your locked distressing memories. The objective of EMDR is to desensitise your upsetting memories.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends EMDR for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

Integrative Therapy

Integrative therapy selects therapies to fit your preferences and the issues you encounter. It considers your subjective experiences and options. The aim of integrative therapy is to help you advance your self-awareness.

Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you obtaining insight into the problems you face. It explores your thoughts, feelings and significant moments in your history. Psychotherapy aims to help you develop or discover suitable methods of coping.
