24+ Years Post-Chartership Experience

Hello. I am Martin Milton. I'm a chartered and registered counselling psychologist and a registered psychotherapist - I assist individuals and couples with their psychological health. I have private and public sector experience as a counselling psychologist and a psychotherapist. My interest includes depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD) and sexual problems, and the specific problems experienced by asexual, gay and heterosexual men, transgender people and women.

What to Expect

An introductory assessment appointment helps you to discover if you are comfortable with me, share what concerns you, ask questions, understand confidentiality, and determine if therapy could assist you. Please use a contact option on the right to arrange a preliminary assessment appointment in Southfields, London.

Counselling

Counselling centres on listening to you, and assisting you. You decide which matter regarding your childhood or adult life you discuss. An aim of counselling is to enable you to speak about a problem and find a way forward which is right for you.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends counselling for depression.

Psychology

Psychology is interested in you and your mind, feelings and actions. It offers you psychological interventions and mental wellbeing support. An objective of psychological therapies is to help you alleviate symptoms.

Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you gaining insight into the difficulties you confront. It considers your thoughts, emotions and significant moments in your life. Psychotherapy aims to help you develop or find appropriate methods of coping.
