4+ Years Post-Registration Experience

Hi. I am Pieter. I'm a registered counsellor and psychotherapist - I support individuals and couples with their mental health. I have private sector experience as a counsellor and psychotherapist. My interest involves depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD) and relationship problems, as well as the particular difficulties experienced by men and women.

What to Expect

An initial assessment meeting enables you to discover if you feel comfortable with me, share what worries you, ask questions, understand confidentiality, and determine if therapy may assist you. Please use a contact option on the right to book an initial assessment appointment in Lichfield.

Client Centred Therapy

Client centred therapy focuses on appreciating and accepting you. It facilitates your honesty around the worries you encounter. Client centred therapy aims to help you find your own answers.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive behavioural therapy focuses on how your thoughts influence your emotions and behaviour. It recognises and challenges negative thoughts which perpetuate the problems you encounter. The aim of cognitive behavioural therapy is for you to have healthier thoughts and feelings.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends cognitive behavioural therapy for depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), panic disorder and social anxiety disorder.

Counselling centres on listening to you, and assisting you. You decide what matter regarding your early years or adulthood you discuss. An objective of counselling is to help you to talk about a problem and discover a solution that is appropriate for you.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends counselling for depression.

Integrative Therapy

Integrative therapy combines therapeutic approaches to suit your needs and the problems you experience. It explores your personal experiences and choices. An aim of integrative therapy is to help you develop your self-understanding.

Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you obtaining insight into the difficulties you confront. It explores your thoughts, feelings and significant events in your life. Psychotherapy aims to help you change or discover suitable ways of coping.
