6+ Years Post-Accreditation Experience

Hello. I'm Paula. I'm an accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) psychotherapist and an accredited and registered counsellor and psychotherapist - I support individuals and couples with their psychological wellbeing. I have private and public sector experience as a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) psychotherapist and a counsellor and psychotherapist. My interest includes depression, as well as the specific difficulties experienced by men and women.

What to Expect

An introductory assessment appointment helps you to see if you are comfortable with me, share what concerns you, ask questions, clarify confidentiality, and determine if therapy may help you. Please use a contact option on the right to arrange an introductory assessment appointment in Mansfield or Mansfield.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive behavioural therapy focuses on how your thoughts influence your feelings and actions. It identifies and challenges unhelpful thoughts which maintain the issues you experience. The aim of CBT is for you to have healthier thoughts and emotions.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) suggests CBT for Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD), depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), panic disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), self harm and social anxiety disorder.

Counselling centres on listening to you, and supporting you. You determine which issue concerning your childhood and/or adult life you discuss. An aim of counselling is to help you to speak about a problem and find a way forward which is right for you.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends counselling for depression.

Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you obtaining insight into the problems you face. It explores your thoughts, feelings and significant moments in your life. Psychotherapy aims to help you develop or find appropriate methods of managing.
