3+ Years Post-Registration Experience

Welcome. I am Paul. I'm a registered counsellor and psychotherapist - I assist individuals and couples with their emotional health. I have private sector experience as a counsellor and psychotherapist. My focus involves depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD) and relationship problems, and the particular issues experienced by men and women.

What to Expect

An introductory assessment session allows you to discover if you are comfortable with me, discuss what troubles you, ask questions, clarify confidentiality, and determine if therapy may help you. Please use a contact option on the right to arrange a preliminary assessment session in Colchester or Sudbury.

Client Centred Therapy

Client centred therapy focuses on understanding and accepting you. It facilitates your openness around the worries you encounter. Client centred therapy aims to help you discover your own solutions.

Counselling centres on listening to you, and assisting you. You determine what matter concerning your early years or adult life you explore. The aim of counselling is to help you to talk about a difficulty and find a solution that is right for you.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends counselling for depression.

Integrative Therapy

Integrative therapy selects therapeutic approaches to fit your preferences and the problems you encounter. It considers your personal experience and choices. An aim of integrative therapy is to help you develop your self-understanding.

Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you obtaining insight into the difficulties you face. It considers your ideas, emotions and relevant events in your life. Psychotherapy aims to help you develop or discover appropriate ways of coping.
