8+ Years Post-Registration Experience

Welcome. I am Paola Pomponi. I'm a registered counsellor and psychotherapist - I assist individuals and couples with their emotional wellbeing. I hold private and voluntary sector experience as a counsellor and psychotherapist. My focus includes Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), as well as the particular challenges encountered by men, transgender people and women.

What to Expect

An introductory assessment meeting enables you to discover if you feel comfortable with me, discuss what worries you, ask questions, clarify confidentiality, and decide if therapy could assist you. Please use a contact option on the right to arrange a preliminary assessment appointment in Chelsea, London.

Counselling

Counselling centres on listening to you, and assisting you. You decide which matter regarding your early years or adult life you discuss. The aim of counselling is to enable you to speak about a difficulty and discover a way forward that is appropriate for you.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends counselling for depression.

Existential Therapy

Existential therapy explores how you comprehend your life. It involves reflection on your viewpoints, potential and options. Existential therapy aims to help you find significance in your existence and the issues you encounter.

Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR)

EMDR directs your eye motions to affect how your mind processes data. The procedure endeavours to reprocess your locked distressing memories. The aim of EMDR is to desensitise your painful memories.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) suggests EMDR for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

Psychosexual Therapy

Psychosexual therapy focuses on treating the sexual difficulties you encounter. When appropriate, you complete treatment tasks privately at your home. Psychosexual therapy seeks to help you overcome sexual difficulties.

Psychotherapy

Easy to talk toHelpfulnessValue for Money

"Paola is a great listener. She helped me to see my problems in [a] different light and place the right weight on them. I do not want to sound cheesy but she really helped me change my life for the better. She showed me mechanisms, which I can use, in my day-to-day life to cope with situations that beforehand would have made me feel depressed and helpless."
