4 Years Post-Registration Experience

Hello. I'm Nigel. I'm an accredited and registered counsellor and psychotherapist - I help individuals and couples with their psychological wellbeing. I hold private sector experience as a counsellor and psychotherapist. My interest includes depression, and the particular obstacles encountered by men, transgender people and women.

What to Expect

A preliminary assessment meeting enables you to discover if you are comfortable with me, discuss what concerns you, ask questions, clarify confidentiality, and determine if therapy could help you. Please use a contact option on the right to book a preliminary assessment appointment in Oxford or Oxford.

Counselling

Counselling centres on listening to you, and assisting you. You decide which matter regarding your early years or adult life you discuss. An aim of counselling is to help you to speak about a problem and find a solution which is appropriate for you.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends counselling for depression.

Psychodynamic Therapy

Psychodynamic therapy focuses on the unconscious causes of the issues you experience. It facilitates you in being conscious of parts of your internal dynamics. Psychodynamic therapy seeks to enhance your self-understanding to give you choices.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) suggests psychodynamic therapy for depression, self harm and social anxiety disorder.

Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you gaining insight into the problems you face. It considers your ideas, emotions and significant events in your history. Psychotherapy intends to help you change or discover appropriate methods of managing.
