4+ Years Post-Registration Experience

Hi. I'm Nicholas Franklin. I'm an accredited and registered counsellor and psychotherapist - I support individuals with their psychological wellbeing. I have private sector experience as a counsellor and psychotherapist. My focus includes depression, relationship problems and self esteem, as well as the specific difficulties encountered by men.

What to Expect

A preliminary assessment appointment enables you to discover if you feel comfortable with me, discuss what concerns you, ask questions, understand confidentiality, and decide if therapy may assist you. Please use a contact option on the right to arrange an introductory assessment session in Golders Green, London.

Counselling

Counselling centres on listening to you, and assisting you. You decide which matter regarding your childhood and/or adult life you explore. An aim of counselling is to help you to talk about a difficulty and discover a way forward that is right for you.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends counselling for depression.

Humanistic Therapy

Humanistic therapy focuses on appreciating you. It considers you as a whole human being and prioritises your unique development. Humanistic therapy aims to help you realise your freedom.

Integrative Therapy

Integrative therapy selects therapeutic approaches to fit your preferences and the issues you encounter. It considers your subjective experiences and options. An aim of integrative therapy is to help you develop your self-understanding.

Psychodynamic Therapy

Psychodynamic therapy focuses on the unconscious causes of the problems you encounter. It facilitates you in being conscious of parts of your internal dynamics. Psychodynamic therapy aims to increase your self-understanding to give you choices.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends psychodynamic therapy for anorexia nervosa, depression and social anxiety disorder.

Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you gaining insight into the problems you confront. It considers your ideas, emotions and significant events in your history. Psychotherapy intends to help you change or discover suitable ways of coping.
