26+ Years Post-Registration Experience

Hello. I am Michele. I'm a registered counsellor and psychotherapist - I assist individuals and couples with their psychological wellbeing. I have private sector experience as a counsellor and psychotherapist. My focus involves depression, relationship problems and self esteem, as well as the specific challenges encountered by men and women.

What to Expect

An introductory assessment session helps you to discover if you are comfortable with me, discuss what troubles you, ask questions, understand confidentiality, and assess if therapy may benefit you. Please use a contact option on the right to book a preliminary assessment meeting in Twyford, Reading.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

CBT concentrates on how your thoughts affect your feelings and actions. It identifies and challenges negative ideas that perpetuate the issues you experience. The aim of cognitive behavioural therapy is for you to have healthier thoughts and emotions.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) indicates CBT for anorexia nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder (BED), bulimia nervosa, depression and social anxiety disorder.

Counselling centres on listening to you, and supporting you. You determine what matter regarding your early years and/or adult life you explore. The aim of counselling is to enable you to speak about a difficulty and discover a solution that is appropriate for you.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends counselling for depression.

Interpersonal Therapy

Interpersonal therapy focuses on the relationship difficulties you experience. It facilitates you in comprehending problems differently. An objective of interpersonal therapy is to help you make useful changes to how you relate.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) indicates interpersonal therapy for depression.

Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you gaining insight into the problems you face. It explores your ideas, emotions and significant moments in your history. Psychotherapy intends to help you change or discover suitable methods of coping.
