12+ Years Post-Registration Experience

Hi. I'm Martin Taylor. I'm an accredited and registered counsellor and psychotherapist - I assist individuals with their emotional wellbeing. I have private sector experience as a counsellor and psychotherapist. My focus includes relationship problems, and the particular problems encountered by women.

What to Expect

An initial assessment appointment allows you to discover if you feel comfortable with me, share what worries you, ask questions, clarify confidentiality, and decide if therapy may help you. Please use a contact option on the right to book a preliminary assessment meeting in Southfields, London.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

CBT focuses on how your thoughts affect your emotions and behaviour. It recognises and addresses negative ideas that maintain the problems you experience. The aim of CBT is for you to experience healthier thoughts and emotions.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) suggests cognitive behavioural therapy for depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), panic disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and social anxiety disorder.

Counselling

Counselling centres on listening to you, and assisting you. You determine what matter concerning your early years or adult life you discuss. The aim of counselling is to enable you to speak about a difficulty and discover a way forward which is appropriate for you.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends counselling for depression.

Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you gaining insight into the problems you confront. It considers your thoughts, emotions and relevant moments in your history. Psychotherapy intends to help you change or discover suitable methods of coping.
