11 Years Post-Accreditation Experience

Hello. I'm Marjorie Clare. I'm an accredited and registered counsellor and psychotherapist - I help individuals with their emotional wellbeing. I hold private sector experience as a counsellor and psychotherapist. My interest involves depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD) and stress, and the particular challenges encountered by men, transgender people and women.

What to Expect

An initial assessment appointment helps you to see if you are comfortable with me, share what concerns you, ask questions, understand confidentiality, and assess if therapy may assist you. Please use a contact option on the right to arrange a preliminary assessment appointment in Lymm or Leigh.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

(1 Review)
CBT concentrates on how your thoughts (cognitions) affect your emotions and behaviour. It recognises and addresses negative ideas which perpetuate the problems you encounter. The objective of CBT is for you to experience healthier thoughts and feelings.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends cognitive behavioural therapy for alcohol dependence, anorexia nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder (BED), bipolar disorder, Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD), bulimia nervosa, depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), panic disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), schizophrenia, self harm and social anxiety disorder.

Counselling

Counselling centres on listening to you, and assisting you. You decide what issue concerning your early years or adult life you explore. An objective of counselling is to help you to speak about a difficulty and find a way forward that is right for you.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends counselling for depression.

Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you obtaining insight into the problems you face. It explores your thoughts, feelings and significant moments in your life. Psychotherapy intends to help you develop or discover suitable methods of managing.
