More Detail

14+ Years Post-Registration Experience

Hi. I'm Margot. I'm a registered psychotherapist - I help individuals with their mental wellbeing. I hold private sector experience as a psychotherapist. My focus includes relationship problems, and the particular issues experienced by gay men.

What to Expect

An introductory assessment meeting helps you to see if you are comfortable with me, discuss what worries you, ask questions, understand confidentiality, and decide if therapy could help you. Please use a contact option on the right to book an introductory assessment meeting in Oxford Circus, London or Barnet.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

CBT focuses on how your thoughts (cognitions) affect your feelings and behaviour. It recognises and challenges unhelpful ideas that perpetuate the problems you experience. The aim of cognitive behavioural therapy is for you to have healthier thoughts and emotions.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) suggests CBT for anorexia nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder (BED), bulimia nervosa, depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), panic disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and self harm.

Counselling

Counselling centres on listening to you, and supporting you. You decide which issue concerning your early years or adult life you explore. An objective of counselling is to help you to talk about a difficulty and discover a solution which is right for you.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends counselling for depression.

Psychotherapy
