6 Years Post-Registration Experience

Welcome. I am Magda. I'm a registered psychotherapist and a chartered psychologist - I help individuals with their mental wellbeing. I have private sector experience as a psychotherapist and a psychologist. My focus includes depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD) and self esteem, and the particular issues encountered by men and women.

What to Expect

An introductory assessment meeting enables you to discover if you feel comfortable with me, discuss what worries you, ask questions, clarify confidentiality, and decide if therapy may benefit you. Please use a contact option on the right to arrange an introductory assessment session in Chiswick, London.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

CBT concentrates on how your thoughts influence your feelings and actions. It recognises and challenges negative thoughts which perpetuate the issues you encounter. The objective of cognitive behavioural therapy is for you to experience healthier thoughts and emotions.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends cognitive behavioural therapy for anorexia nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder (BED), depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), panic disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and self harm.

Counselling

Counselling centres on listening to you, and assisting you. You determine what matter concerning your childhood or adulthood you explore. An aim of counselling is to enable you to talk about a difficulty and discover a solution which is appropriate for you.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends counselling for depression.

Integrative Therapy

Integrative therapy combines therapies to fit your needs and the issues you encounter. It considers your subjective experiences and choices. An aim of integrative therapy is to help you advance your self-awareness.

Psychoanalytic Therapy

Psychoanalytic therapy concentrates on the unconscious meaning of the problems you encounter. It fosters your consciousness of parts of your unconscious. The aim of psychoanalytic therapy is for you to gain personal insight and use it if you decide to.

Psychodynamic Therapy

Psychodynamic therapy focuses on the unconscious causes of the issues you experience. It facilitates you in being aware of aspects of your internal dynamics. Psychodynamic therapy aims to enhance your self-comprehension to give you choices.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends psychodynamic therapy for anorexia nervosa, depression and self harm.

Psychology

Psychology is interested in you and your mind, emotions and actions. It offers you psychological interventions and mental health support. An intention of psychological therapy is to help you alleviate symptoms.

Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you obtaining insight into the difficulties you confront. It considers your thoughts, feelings and relevant events in your life. Psychotherapy aims to help you change or find appropriate methods of coping.
