4+ Years Post-Registration Experience

Welcome. I'm Laura. I'm a registered counsellor and psychotherapist - I support individuals and couples with their psychological health. I have private and public sector experience as a counsellor and psychotherapist. My focus involves depression, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and stress, as well as the specific difficulties experienced by men and women.

What to Expect

A preliminary assessment meeting helps you to discover if you feel comfortable with me, discuss what troubles you, ask questions, clarify confidentiality, and determine if therapy could benefit you. Please use a contact option on the right to arrange an initial assessment meeting in Woking.

Counselling centres on listening to you, and supporting you. You decide which matter regarding your early years or adulthood you discuss. An objective of counselling is to help you to speak about a problem and find a way forward that is appropriate for you.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends counselling for depression.

Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR)

EMDR directs your eye motions to stimulate how your mind processes data. The technique endeavours to reprocess your locked traumatic memories. The aim of EMDR is to desensitise your upsetting memories.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends EMDR for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you gaining insight into the difficulties you confront. It explores your ideas, emotions and significant events in your life. Psychotherapy aims to help you change or discover appropriate methods of coping.

Transpersonal Therapy

Transpersonal therapy considers your intellect, body and spirit. It perceives the issues you experience as ways for you to transform. Transpersonal therapy aims to help you recognise your human potential.
