Welcome. I am Ekaterina. I'm an accredited and registered counsellor and psychotherapist - I help individuals and couples with their emotional wellbeing. I have private and public sector experience as a counsellor and psychotherapist. My focus includes relationship problems and self esteem, as well as the specific issues experienced by men, transgender people and women.

What to Expect

An initial assessment appointment helps you to discover if you feel comfortable with me, share what worries you, ask questions, understand confidentiality, and determine if therapy could help you. Please use a contact option on the right to book a preliminary assessment meeting in Earley, Reading.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

CBT focuses on how your thoughts affect your emotions and actions. It identifies and challenges unhelpful ideas that maintain the issues you experience. The aim of CBT is for you to experience healthier thoughts and emotions.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends CBT for depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), panic disorder and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

Counselling centres on listening to you, and supporting you. You determine what issue concerning your childhood or adult life you discuss. The objective of counselling is to help you to talk about a problem and discover a solution that is appropriate for you.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends counselling for depression.

Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you obtaining insight into the difficulties you confront. It explores your thoughts, feelings and relevant moments in your life. Psychotherapy intends to help you develop or find appropriate ways of managing.
