5+ Years Post-Registration Experience

Hello. I'm Julie Sandler. I'm an accredited and registered counsellor and psychotherapist - I help individuals and couples with their emotional health. I hold private sector experience as a counsellor and psychotherapist. My focus involves depression and stress, as well as the specific obstacles experienced by men and women.

What to Expect

A preliminary assessment appointment allows you to discover if you feel comfortable with me, share what worries you, ask questions, clarify confidentiality, and determine if therapy may benefit you. Please use a contact option on the right to arrange an initial assessment session in Upper Caldecote, Biggleswade.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive behavioural therapy concentrates on how your thoughts (cognitions) affect your feelings and actions. It recognises and challenges negative ideas that maintain the issues you encounter. The aim of CBT is for you to have healthier thoughts and feelings.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) indicates CBT for alcohol dependence, Binge Eating Disorder (BED), depression, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and panic disorder.

Counselling centres on listening to you, and supporting you. You decide what issue concerning your early years and/or adult life you explore. The aim of counselling is to help you to talk about a difficulty and find a way forward that is right for you.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends counselling for depression.

Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you gaining insight into the problems you face. It considers your ideas, emotions and significant moments in your history. Psychotherapy aims to help you change or find appropriate ways of managing.
