6 Years Post-Accreditation Experience

Hi. I'm Johanna. I'm an accredited and registered counsellor and psychotherapist - I help individuals with their emotional wellbeing. I have private and voluntary sector experience as a counsellor and psychotherapist. My interest includes abuse, alcohol dependence, depression and relationship problems, as well as the particular problems experienced by business men and women.

What to Expect

A preliminary assessment appointment enables you to discover if you feel comfortable with me, share what concerns you, ask questions, understand confidentiality, and assess if therapy may help you. Please use a contact option on the right to book an initial assessment appointment in Knaphill, Woking or Twickenham.

Counselling centres on listening to you, and supporting you. You determine which issue regarding your early years and/or adult life you explore. The aim of counselling is to enable you to talk about a problem and find a way forward which is right for you.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends counselling for depression.

Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR)

EMDR directs your eye movements to affect how your mind processes information. The procedure attempts to reprocess your locked distressing memories. The objective of EMDR is to desensitise your upsetting memories.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends eye movement desensitisation reprocessing for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

Integrative Therapy

Integrative therapy combines therapeutic approaches to suit your needs and the issues you experience. It explores your subjective experience and choices. The aim of integrative therapy is to help you advance your self-understanding.

Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you gaining insight into the difficulties you face. It explores your thoughts, feelings and significant events in your life. Psychotherapy aims to help you change or discover suitable methods of coping.

Relational Therapy

Relational therapy concentrates on how you relate with others. It facilitates your openness about the problems you encounter. An objective of relational therapy is to help you identify beneficial ways of relating.
