6+ Years Post-Registration Experience

Hi. I'm Joanna Marlor. I'm an accredited and registered counsellor - I support individuals with their mental wellbeing. I hold private sector experience as a counsellor. My focus includes alcohol dependence, anger, bereavement and depression, and the specific problems encountered by women.

What to Expect

An introductory assessment meeting allows you to discover if you feel comfortable with me, share what worries you, ask questions, clarify confidentiality, and assess if therapy may benefit you. Please use a contact option on the right to book a preliminary assessment session in Aldershot or Wimborne Minster, Wimborne.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive behavioural therapy concentrates on how your thoughts (cognitions) affect your emotions and actions. It identifies and challenges unhelpful thoughts that perpetuate the issues you encounter. The aim of CBT is for you to have healthier thoughts and emotions.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends cognitive behavioural therapy for alcohol dependence, depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), panic disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), self harm and social anxiety disorder.

Easy to talk toHelpfulnessValue for Money

"Joanna had a calming manner about her which made it very easy to express sensitive and personal issues. Joanna made talking to her feel almost like talking to a friend, without judgement or opinion, however her approach was structured and I felt that Joanna's objective of the therapy was always clearly defined which led to an efficient programme of treatment."
